A sought-after voice and piano teacher with over 13 years of experience, Stephanie is known for her dynamic, intuitive teaching style. With a philosophy deeply rooted in empowering individual artistry, she offers both structure and freedom—guiding students to develop strong technique and musicianship while nurturing authentic creative voice.
Pfundt brings a wealth of training to her studio. She has studied with over 50 of America’s leading voice teachers and coaches, drawing from a wide range of pedagogical traditions—from old-world Italianate bel canto to cutting-edge vocal science. Her own operatic background—what she calls the “Olympic level” of vocal technique—equips her to support healthy, sustainable vocal development across all genres.
She works with students of all levels, from beginners to professionals, and her approach is highly individualized. Pfundt adapts to each student’s learning style and goals, addressing everything from historical knowledge about the personalities of classical composers to practice habits and managing performance anxiety. She has taught at the collegiate level through a graduate assistantship at Boston University, and has particular skill and passion for mentoring gifted and neurodivergent students.
Pfundt teaches in person from in Somerville, Massachusetts, and maintains a thriving virtual studio with students across the United States. While her studio is currently full, she welcomes serious student inquiries and gives special consideration to working singers and dedicated pre-professional artists.
